Śrīpāṭ of Gaura devotee Śrī Jagat Candra Gosvāmī

How to Reach?

This is the Śrīpāṭ of Gaura-bhakta Jagat Candra Gosvāmī who took birth here. He was a contemporary of Mahāprabhu. He set up an establishment by the name Śrī Gaura Bhānḍāra in Burmā-Ākiyāba and preached Kṛṣṇa consciousness enunciated by Mahāprabhu. The residents of this village have constructed a tin-roofed small temple here.

There is a tamāla tree in front of the temple. The village is a big one. The residents of this village and some adjacent villages have been unitedly living as the followers of Sanātana Dharma. The villagers wished to build a big temple here. Some say that Jagat Candra Gosvāmī was an initiated disciple of Mahāprabhu but there is no scriptural evidence to support this. His samādhi is there in Koyapāḍā village.

Dola festival and other Vaiṣṇava festivals are celebrated here. Worship of Jvālāmukhī is done in the month of Caitra (March-April).

Jagat Candra Gosvāmī’s  disappearance is celebrated on the ninth day of the waning moon in the month of Kārtika (October-November).
