Vaiṣṇava Sārvabhauma Siddha Śrīla Jagannātha Dāsa Bābājī appeared in this village. He appeared here approximately two hundred fifty years ago. His name was Narahari Nandī in his previous āśrama. His father’s name was Gopāla Nandī. Here, there was a place long before, where the Vaiṣṇavas assembled for religious worship. The family descendants of the Bābājī are all living now in India. The birth place is now under the members of Bāccu Candra.

Gauḍīya Vedānta Ācārya Śrīla Baladeva Vidyābhuṣaṇa’s disciple was Śrī Uddhava Dāsa. Uddhava Dāsa Bābājī’s disciple was Śrī Madhusudana Dāsa, who was the resident of Sūryakuṇḍa. Śrīla Jagannātha Dāsa Bābājī Mahārāja took the dress of a Bābājī (Bābājī initiation) from Madhusudana Dāsa. Śrīla Jagannātha Dāsa Bābājī Mahārāja did his bhajana for many days in Vraja Maṇḍala. He was renowned as Siddhabābā all over the place.

Afterwards Jagannātha Dāsa Bābājī returned from Vraja Maṇḍala and continued his bhajana at Navadvīpa. His Bhajna-kuṭira is there at Navadvīpa near Pīratalā which is known to the local people as ‘Old bhajana-kuṭira’. His worshipable Deities, Śrī Śrī Gaura- Nitāi, and his samādhi are there. He had a very sweet relation with Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura. Bābājī Mahārāja traced out the birth place of Śrīman Mahāprabhu in Śrīdhāma Māyāpur. He was unable to walk alone in his old age. Bihārī Kṛṣṇa Dāsa used to move around with Śrīla Jagannātha Dāsa Bābājī Mahārāja by keeping him in a basket. He left this world at the age of one hundred forty-seven years.
