Description

(Land of Pastime) of Śrīla Abhirāma Ṭhakura

Kaiyaḍa is situated in the district of Bardhamān. This is the station in between Bāṅkuḍā and Rāyanā railway station. By crossing the Dāmodara River one can come to Seherābāzār from Bardhamān. From there one can come to Kaiyaḍa station by meter-gauge railway-line and from there one can walk a little to reach this Śrīpāṭa. It is described in Śrī Abhirāma Śākhā Nirṇaya-

kaiyaḍa grāmete śrī vedagarbha parakāśa

Śrī Vedagarbha appeared in this Kaiyaḍa village.

Abhirāma Ṭhākura unfolded many transcendental activities here during his Saṅkīrtana pastime. It is described in Śrī Abhirāma Līlāmṛta-

śrīpāṭa kaiyaḍa āra śrī kṛṣṇanagara
dui-sthānei līlā tāṅra ati guḍhatara

The pastimes exhibited both in Kaiyaḍa Śrīpāṭa and in Śrī Krishnanagar are very confidential.

Swing-festival is celebrated here in a very big way. Janmāṣṭamī and Dola-yātrā festivals are also celebrated here. Ratha-yātrā festival is the most wonderful one where Madana-gopāla is taken on a Ratha-cart made of brass metal. There is a Swing-altar by the side of the temple and Madana-gopāla has His pastime there during the Dola-yātrā festival. It is written on a marble plaque there-

basechila vetapuñje prabhu abhirāma
ei sthāne ratnāvatī pūrṇa manaskāma

smaraṇiya ei sthāne samāja virajila
smṛtikalpe garbha e mañca racila

madana-gopāla tāṅra vāñchā pūrṇatare
phāguā mākhena basi ei śrī mandire

[Bengali year 1374, Āṣāḍha month (June-July)].

Prabhu Abhirāma was sitting in Vetapuñja. In this place his desire was fulfilled. This memorable place was a place of local populace. This altar was created according to the plan he had in his mind before. Madana-gopāla fulfilled his desire and he smeared colored-powder by sitting in the temple.

There is nice arrangement of worship in this Śrīpāṭa.
